Discover Reunion Island in a unique way with this seven night self drive / mountain bike tour. This package incorporates both the excitement of driving around a foreign land with the enjoyment of cycling through amazing scenery at a leisurely pace and getting up close with the local people and their culture. Accommodation used is of a basic standard due to limited options however hotels in for the Saint Gilles region, near the beach can be upgraded if required.
Day 1: Arrive Reunion
On arrival transfer to the Blue Margouillat hotel in Saint Leu.

Day 2: Cilaos
Pick up your hire car and self drive to Cilaos. Check in at hotel, Le Vieux Cep before enjoying some mountain biking around the village and through the forest up to la Roche Merveilleuse. Local tourist offices can suggest tours that can be done in Cilaos.

Day 3: Cilaos
Wake up early to enjoy the wonderful sceneries of the surrounding mountains and peaks with more mountain bike activities today before relaxing by the pool at the hotel.

Day 4: Plaine des Caffres
After breakfast depart Cilaos and drive to the seaside and explore the wild south part of the island. Continue to Plaine des Cafres, near the volcano.
Les Geraniums Hotel - B
Day 5: Volcano
Meet at the mountain bike shop then transfer by bike to the volcano.Enjoy a 30 km descent in the impressive volcanic area. Drop off the bike, then drive to the east coast.
La Fournaise Hotel - B
Day 6: Saint Leu
Drive to the small town of Bras Panon. Collect your bike to explore the green east coast. In the afternoon, drive to Saint Leu and drop off the car.

Day 7: The Great Descent
Take a guided mountain bike tour known as “The Great Descent” from the hotel to the west coast and beaches of St-Gilles, across the forest, geranium and sugar cane fields
