This exciting 12 night itinerary offers you the opportunity to experience Mauritius through a variety of island tours, while enjoying two beautiful resorts in distinctly different regions of the island. Your stay is a combination of days at leisure and island tours which will allow you to discover both the beauty of the resorts and the island’s fantastic culture
Day 1 Le Mauricia Hotel
Arrive in Mauritius and transfer to Le Mauricia Hotel for 6 nights. Breakfast & Dinner are included. For just $50 per person per night, upgrade to the All Inclusive package.
Day 3 Botanical Gardens/Sugar Museum/Port Louis
Today your tour takes you to the famous Pamplemousses Gardens, home to an amazing variety of plants including the giant Victoria Regia waterlillies. Continue to L’Aventure du Sucre to discover the history of sugar on the island. Then it is on to explore the streets of the capital Port Louis with its many attractions and shops.
Day 6 Experience Mauritius
Embark on a private tour (with guide) visiting different religious sites which reflect the diversity of Mauritian cultures and religions. Sites include a Temple, a Pagoda and a Church. Return to the the island’s colonial past at the stately Creole house of Eureka, which is set against a mountain backdrop. After a typical Creole lunch (included), continue to the ship-model and diamond-cutting factories and the glass gallery to view craftsman excelling at these intricate trades.
Day 7 Paradis Hotel
Check out and transfer to the spectacular Paradis Hotel & Golf Club for 6 nights. Breakfast & Dinner are included. On your days at leisure take the time to soak up this wonderful resort. Relax on the beach, indulge at the Spa by Clarins or play a round of golf. This resort has something for everyone. Guests have access to the restaurants, and facilities of Dinarobin Hotel Golf & Spa, located next door.
Day 9 Walk with the Lions
Depart early to Casela Nature Park (approx 30 min drive) for a rare and memorable encounter, Walking With The Lions. The adventure starts with a briefing from professional guides who accompany you on your walk with the lions. You will have a one on one encounter with a lion and there are plenty of photo opportunities. This is a truly amazing experience! Afterwards, take the time to see some of Mauritius’ and the world’s rare and endangered birds. Return to your resort for the afternoon at leisure.
Day 11 Authentic Colours Tour
Depart early on a private tour, with guide, to view the amazing natural sites of Mauritius. Your journey takes you through the inland, past serene landscapes and quaint villages. Continue along Plaine Champagne road to Grand Bassin, a sacred lake for the Hindus, and to the viewpoint of the Black River Gorges. Your guide will then take you to “La Rhumerie de Chamarel”, a rum distillery in the heart of a 300m high valley, where you can learn the secrets of its ‘agricultural rum’ production. Afterwards, proceed to the coloured earths of Chamarel, a unique volcanic phenomenon that separates the colours of the earth. Return to your hotel for your final days at leisure.
