Weddings in Mauritius

Weddings in Mauritius are easy to arrange and very affordable. Wedding fees start from as little as $650 (subject to change).

All Beachcomber Hotels perform weddings and pride themselves on a guarantee of offering only one wedding per day.

General information on wedding services and extras is applicable for all resorts. Guests have the choice of deciding where you get married within the resort with locations such as the beach, the gardens, by the pool with the setting sun the most popular.

Basic Wedding Procedures

Your wedding co-ordinator at the resort will meet with you during your stay to discuss details regarding all procedures for your wedding including any legal requirements, location and extras required.

Your wedding co-ordinator can arrange the following extras (payable in Mauritius):

• Flowers
• Photographer / Videographer
• Musicians
• Recorded music (we recommend you take a tape/cd if you have a particular song)
• Beauty treatments and hair- dressing appointments
• Special menus or requests

At least three days prior to the wedding date, clients will have to visit the Registrar General's office in Port Louis. All original copies of the documentation must be presented and all affidavits will then be checked by the Attorney of Law. The clients then proceed to the Supreme Court to swear their affidavit.

A previously divorced bride wishing to marry within 10 months of the ‘Decree of Divorce’ must go through a pregnancy test under Mauritian Law. If under these circumstances the test is positive, the civil marriage cannot be celebrated in Mauritius. The cost of the pregnancy test is at the client's own expense.

Two witnesses are needed for the wedding and these can be provided by the hotel if required.

Subject to availability, a room will be made available for the Groom to change on the day of wedding.
