Day 1 - Makutsi
Depart Johannesburg airport (flight not included) and arrive at Hoedspruit or Phalaborwa Airport where you will be met by a Makutsi representative for your lodge transfer. Relax at the camp or in the hot mineral springs before enjoying dinner served in the traditional open air ‘Lapa’.
Day 2 - Game Viewing
This morning’s game drive is at Makutsi where you will find elephant, rhino, zebra, lion, giraffe, crocodile, hippo and leopard. After breakfast relax and enjoy the tranquillity of Makutsi. In the early afternoon you will again head out on a game drive, returning in time for sundowners and dinner at the Lapa.
Day 3 - Kruger National Park
Today you enter the world famous Kruger National Park for your game viewing. Your guide will provide a picnic style breakfast en route. This is followed by more game viewing until lunch time where you will stop at one of the camps inside the Kruger (own expense). After lunch indulge yourself in the spectacular scenery before returning through the park to Makutsi for dinner.
Day 4 - Mpumalanga Sight Seeing
Depart on a tour of the breathtaking Drakensberg Mountains and Blyde River Canyon. Several stops are made along the way to see Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the Three Rondavels which overlook the Blyde Dam, and the Berlin Waterfalls. Return to the lodge for dinner.
Day 5 - Local Villages (Culture and Tradition)
Today you visit the nearby Sotho villages to learn about traditional culture and the way life has been sustained through the ages. After the African village visit, wander through some of the amazing forest of the Drakensberg Mountains before returning to Makutsi.
Day 6 - A Final Game Drive
Today you take your final game drive in an open Land Rover on the Makutsi Game Reserve, choosing either early morning or late afternoon. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 7 - Departure
Depart on your transfer to the airport (flight not included).
