Day 2 - Lake Naivasha
Your safari starts with a drive to Lake Naivasha, one of Kenya’s most striking freshwater lakes. Although the lake has an average depth of just five metres, it is a haven for hippos and buffalos both of which enjoy sunning themselves on the banks or wallowing in the swampy areas. The acacia forests on the lake shore attract herds of giraffe and troupes of Colobus monkeys. In addition the Lake is known as a world-class birding destination, with over 400 species.
After your safari, return to your lodge, set in beautiful grounds on the edge of the Lake. Afternoon at leisure.

After crossing the Rift you arrive in the Masai Mara. The ‘Mara’, as it is known, is a continuation of the migration route from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Spend three nights in this natural paradise among zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, buffalo, elephant, antelope and gazelle. The area is rife with prides of lion and there is a good chance of spotting cheetah and even leopard. Game-viewing activities and safaris are included during your stay. The Karen Blixen Camp is nothing short of spectacular, with the great Mara plains behind the camp and the impressive escarpment and Mara River in front.
