Day 1
Transfer by light aircraft from Maun Airport to Shinde airstrip.  Flying time approx 30 minutes
 
Day 01 to Day 04
Three nights at Footsteps walking safari in twin fly tents with adjacent facilities on a full board basis, including scheduled walking activities, park fees, local brand drinks and limited laundry.
 
One of the special attractions of Footsteps Across the Delta is its flexibility.   Unlike other walking safaris, Footsteps is not a 'trails' camp. This means that you are never tied to a schedule.  Here the emphasis is placed on learning and better understanding the secrets of the delta whilst having fun as you explore the magical watery wilderness of the Okavango Delta by foot and by mokoro.  Walking is at a leisurely pace and due to the diversity of the ecosystem it is not necessary to cover large distance to have a rewarding experience.  The walks are simply about 'following one's nose'.  An interesting smell, the distant roar of a lion or the alarm calls of a wary francolin dictate the direction walks take.
 
Day 04
Transfer by light aircraft from Shinde airstrip to Kanana airstrip.  Flying time approx 15 minutes
 
Day 04 to Day 06
Two nights at Kanana Mokoro Trails camp in a twin bedded tent with adjacent facilities on a full board basis, including scheduled game viewing activities, park fees, local brand drinks and limited laundry.
 
Kanana means "paradise" in Setswana and you will appreciate this meaning as you explore the waterways of the more remote reaches of the Okavango Delta.   Situated on a secluded island you will find Kanana Trails Camp which is a mobile camp which is moved depending upon water levels.  Days are spent exploring the wonderland of islands that provide a seasonal haven to about forty species of large mammals including the rarely seen  Sitatunga.  The area is also home to a multitude of bird species.
 
Day 06
Transfer by mokoro from Kanana Mokoro Trials to Kanana Camp
 
Day 06 to Day 08
Two nights at Kanana Camp in a twin bedded tent with en suite facilities on a full board basis, including scheduled game viewing activities, park fees, local brand drinks and laundry.
 
Kanana means "paradise" in Setswana and you will appreciate this meaning as you explore the waterways of the more remote reaches of the Okavango Delta.   With a beautiful setting under shady trees Kanana Camp is a all year round land and water camp.   After settling in the manager will discuss your preferences and plan your activities which include day and night game drives, bush walks, mokoro excursions and fishing in papyrus lined channels and deeper lagoons.   A highlight is a visit to the heronry where a variety of birds congregate to nest and roost from mid June to late November.
 
Day 08
Transfer by light aircraft from Kanana airstrip to Maun Airport.  Flying time approx 20 minutes
